Application Process
Please send your application documents by email to the Organizing Committee of the International Cello Academy Colditz/Saxony or register directly via our website.
Required Documents
- ✔ Completed application form
- ✔ Short CV (musical background)
💡 Please submit the documents first. After review by the Organizing Committee, you will receive an invitation. After that, you can pay the course fee.
- ✔ Proof of payment of the course fee
Note on Repertoire
Participants are required to indicate at the time of registration which works they would like to perform in the masterclass. If the chosen work is a new or rarely performed piece, please indicate this when completing the registration form and inform the organizer accordingly.
Any short-notice change to the repertoire (within 14 days prior to the start of the course) is only possible in consultation with the course instructor and the accompanists.

🕒 02:00 PM (after the final concert)
- The course of Prof. Peter Bruns begins on January 17.
- The course of Prof. Thomas Grossenbacher begins on January 17.
Course Fees
- Registration fee (non-refundable): €40.00
- Course fee (active participation): €650.00
- Total amount: €690.00
Cancellation Policy
- Up to 15 days before the start of the course:
- Refund of €650 course fee
- 14 days before the course or later:
- Cancellation fee of €300
- Refund of the remaining amount (€350)
Services Included in the Course Fee
✅ 3 lessons (including piano accompaniment)
✅ Passive participation in all masterclasses (as listener)
✅ Access to all concerts during the academy
✅ Participation in the final concert
Wahlmöglichkeit bei der Cello-Meisterklasse
Grundsätzlich erhält jede Teilnehmerin und jeder Teilnehmer, die bzw. der nach der Videoauswahl zur Meisterklasse zugelassen wurde, mindestens drei Unterrichtseinheiten bei einem selbst gewählten Cello-Dozenten.
Bei der Anmeldung besteht zusätzlich die Möglichkeit, eine alternative Aufteilung der Unterrichtseinheiten zu wählen:
- mindestens 2 Unterrichtseinheiten beim selbst gewählten Cello-Dozenten
- 1 Unterrichtseinheit bei einem weiteren frei gewählten Cello-Dozenten der Akademie
Wichtige Hinweise zur alternativen Unterrichtsaufteilung:
Die Wahl dieser Option ist freiwillig und keine Voraussetzung für die Teilnahme. Die reguläre Variante mit drei Unterrichtseinheiten beim gewählten Dozenten bleibt selbstverständlich bestehen.
Die alternative Aufteilung kann nur nach vorheriger Zustimmung beider beteiligter Dozenten umgesetzt werden. Die endgültige Bestätigung erfolgt daher erst nach Rücksprache mit beiden Dozenten.
Practice Rules & House Regulations
To ensure fair practice conditions for everyone:
Maximum usage time per practice room: 2 hours (multiple bookings possible)
Practice times: 08:00–23:00
As guests of the Saxony State Music Academy, please note:
🚭 No eating, smoking, or alcohol in the rooms
🧹 Keep all corridors & rooms clean
🎻 Do not place objects on instruments
🔒 Do not leave valuables unattended
💡 When leaving the room: turn off lights, close windows, lock the door
Accommodation & Catering
Accommodation at Youth Hostel Schloss Colditz (En-suite rooms with bunk beds):
- Rates for single or shared occupancy are based on the current official price list.
Catering (Optional):
- 🍽️ Lunch and 🍲 Dinner: Meals are charged according to the actual current rates.
