Prof. Peter Bruns

Artistic credibility and interpretative authenticity, tonal temperament, and precise, nuanced phrasing characterize his playing: Peter Bruns is one of Germany’s leading cellists. Solo concerts and recitals have brought him to the most renowned music centers, including the Berlin Philharmonie, New York’s Carnegie Hall, London’s Wigmore Hall, Tokyo and Hong Kong, the Semperoper Dresden, the Leipzig Gewandhaus, as well as major festivals such as Kuhmo and Bergen, the Berlin and Dresden Music Festivals, the Budapest Spring Festival, and Gidon Kremer’s Lockenhaus Festival.

Prof. Jens ­Peter Maintz

Jens Peter Maintz enjoys an excellent reputation as a versatile soloist, sought-after chamber musician, and dedicated and successful cello professor.

Originally from Hamburg, he studied with David Geringas and attended masterclasses with other great cellists such as Heinrich Schiff, Boris Pergamenschikow, Frans Helmerson, and Siegfried Palm. Additionally, his intensive chamber music studies with Uwe-Martin Haiberg and Walter Levin were formative.

Prof. Wen Ma

As a cellist, Wen Ma impresses with her sensitive, profound, and expressive playing. During her studies at the Central Conservatory of Music, she won first prize, the “Highest Special Prize” at the Second National Cello Competition of China. After joining the faculty of her alma mater, Ma continued her studies in Germany at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre, where she earned her doctorate with top marks (concert exam).

Yukino Kaihara

Yukino Kaihara was born in Hiroshima, Japan. In 2015 she was a semifinalist at the International Long-Thibaud-Crespin Competition in Paris, and in 2016 she qualified for the preliminary round of the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw. In the same year, she won 3rd prize at the 14th Tokyo Music Competition, one of the most prestigious competitions in Japan.

Moeko Ezaki

Moeko Ezaki was born in Tokyo. She already has an active concert career, including soloist appearances with the MDR Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre Symphonique et Lyrique de Nancy, and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra.
